The first cohort of Aspire to Teaching students recently graduated from the two-year programme with great success and are eager to take the next steps in their careers, most of which involve university study. Throughout the programme, they completed eight weeks of work experience in primary and secondary school settings, participated in training sessions led by external and internal speakers, and undertook independent projects. Many of the students plan to pursue a career in education, with some intending to continue their studies at university. For instance, one student aims to study Primary Education with QTS at Edge Hill University, while another plans to study Law before completing a PGCE.

During the graduation ceremony, the principal, Michael Jaffrain (pictured above with the graduation group and Ms Whelan, who runs the programme), presented each graduate with a letter guaranteeing them an interview for a suitable position at Loreto College once they complete their university studies. The students were thrilled by this incredible opportunity. The event also included a celebration with students and staff who contributed to the programme. Graduates shared their favourite moments at Loreto, the valuable skills gained through Aspire to Teaching, and their future aspirations as educators.
