About Debate Club & MUN

Debate Club meets every week in one of our lecture theatres.  We debate a wide range of topics, including politics, culture, science and current affairs.  Everyone is welcome to come along, listen to the debate and ask questions.  You can also sign up to be a main speaker. 

We take part in several Model United Nations Conferences around Manchester during the college year, and we run our own student-led Model UN event in the summer term.

Debate Club takes place very Thursday lunchtime.

Skills

Debating and MUN teach you to analyse arguments and think on your feet. Being a main speaker builds confidence and public speaking skills. It’s also a great opportunity to encounter diverse views and ideas and learn to ‘disagree agreeably’.
