On a busy last day of term, many staff and students filled the Ellis and Kennedy theatre for the annual Advent Celebration. Lots of students assisted in the preparation for this, helped deliver readings, music and giving out booklets.

The service began with a rendition of O Come, O Come Emmanuel followed by a reading from Isaiah and we then heard regular members of the Chaplaincy give us their beautiful reworking of the classic carol, Oh Come All Ye Faithful. There were messages decorating 4 festive wreaths from General RE classes, the Travelling Nativity, who had been traversing the college campus were with us, and there was a lovely poem about the birth of Jesus.

We ended by watching a video to remind us that Jesus is literally the reason for the season, a communal blessing prayer, and a rousing chorus of Hark the Herald Angels. It was a wonderful way to begin the festive season as a college.

Wishing you all a very happy, holy and peaceful Christmas.
