Loreto Sixth Form College students and staff have delivered another year of excellent exam results:

  • a superb pass rate of 99.2%
  • 30% grades at A*- A (with 9.2% at A*)
  • 61% grades at A*-B
  • 85% grades at A*-C

Loreto students are celebrating spectacular exam success, despite the increased academic challenge of the new linear A Levels. The 2017 cohort continue the college’s tradition of academic excellence: 61% of all grades were High Grades and 48% of all students gained at least 1 A* or A grade. In addition, a record   17 students secured places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

We are delighted with the 443 A*-A grades awarded to students who took Science and Maths A levels. Results are going from strength to strength at Loreto as the college is also celebrating spectacular achievements in Social Sciences, Languages and Arts.

Once again there have been excellent achievements in vocational courses.  There was a 100% pass rate on the Extended Diploma courses (3 A Level equivalent) and a superb 97% of students achieved a High Grade. The Subsidiary Diploma courses (1 A level equivalent)   were equally successful with an excellent 100% pass rate.

Principal Ann Clynch said: “Our results are a testimony to the hard work of students and staff.  Every college Principal was awaiting the summer results this year with, if possible, even more anxiety than usual given the changes to the A level specifications. Loreto students and staff have responded to these changes as they always do: with hard work, commitment and passion. I am very proud of the achievements of our students and staff. We are delighted for our students, and wish the graduates of 2017 the very best in their next steps in Higher Education, training or employment.”
