After a successful season, featuring some promising performances each week, the Loreto Girls have a number of tournament wins under their belts, being unbeaten in most monthly meetings with other colleges around Greater Manchester, in events hosted by Manchester FA at Trafford Soccerdome.

This year, Manchester FA has put together its first University & Colleges County Cup Competition, which coach Keeleigh Savage feels is a priority for our girls as it represents a huge chance to win some serious silverware. We reached the semi-finals of the competition in April and were drawn against a very well organised and pacey Bury College team. Trailing at half time an impressive second half performance saw Loreto pull two goals back to make it a 3-3 full time result; the girls then triumphed in the penalty shoot-out and now have the chance to test themselves against the University of Manchester in the Final of the County Cup on the 4th May, 5:15pm KO at Wright Robinson Sports College.

The Girls also sit third in the League with a couple of outstanding fixtures to play. Overall, a successful season by all the girls…Well Done!
