Reflections on Loreto:

“I loved my time at Loreto. My teachers role modelled to me the values of selflessly serving others. I really enjoyed my courses: we were taught to think curiously and widely about everything we were learning. Beyond just teaching the A Level curriculum, my teachers encouraged me to find what I love doing, work hard at it, and have the confidence to fully pursue it upon leaving Sixth Form. It was such a happy time and I left with very close friends and feeling inspired to work in education myself”.

After Loreto:

“After Loreto, I studied Social Anthropology (HSPS) at the University of Cambridge, where I particularly focused on researching my mother’s homeland Ukraine, cultural heritage, and experiences of war and displacement . Following graduating, I have been awarded the Choate Fellowship (2026-2027), a fully funded year to study postgraduate courses and work as a teaching assistant at the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. At Harvard, I will study at the Anthropology, Slavic Studies and Education departments. I am hoping to build a career around arts-based education with a particular focus on working with refugees. In recent months, I have been working on a theatre project as the Young Artist Resident at the artsdepot theatre in London, as well as volunteering with the charity ‘The Flying Seagull Project’ where I have been delivering circus and play-based workshops with Ukrainian refugee communities in Moldova”.

“My time at Loreto although it was short was very impactful. It felt different to high school but was exactly what I needed. Loreto allowed me to grow into myself and find subjects that weren’t available at secondary but ended up being my favourite”.

After Loreto:

“Since Loreto I’ve started my university degree in Politics and International Relations at the University of Birmingham. So far the experience has been really rewarding and I’ve got to learn so much. Sociology has evidently fed a lot into my degree – feel like I’m always talking about Marx”

“I am now in my second year as a History Undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. I am not 100% sure of my career plans going forward, but I look forward to continuing with my medieval research.”
