This week has seen a fantastic turn out of Loreto students take to the streets in an effort to keep our local area clean.

The litter pick on Monday involved over thirty students in a 40-minute session. The group gathered to get their kit on before dispersing into three groups to tackle the litter on local streets.

Manchester City Council donated all of the equipment as part of their Clean City project and the event comes as the latest in a series of collaborations between Loreto and the local community. The college was recently loaned new seating for the area outside the Ellis and Kennedy building, courtesy of one of the local residents Robert Docherty– the seats are made from recycled materials and were originally part of an instalment in a festival before being placed outside the Whitworth Art Gallery.
