Early in November, a group of excited A-level and GCSE Mandarin students left Manchester to fly to Beijing for a week of culture and adventure.
The week took them to some of China’s most iconic landmarks: The Forbidden City, The Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall and then onto Shanghai via the bullet train for visits to breath-taking city-scapes and peaceful water towns. Students practised their Mandarin and Cantonese (and Tai Chi!)Â with locals, learned the art of Calligraphy, enjoyed a riverboat cruise, ate delicious food and took a lot of photographs!
