Loreto College Manchester is proud to announce that 21 students have received offers to study at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge this year. These offers are from an impressive range of subjects, including Geography, Medicine, Architecture, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Fine Art, History, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology and Politics. This achievement continues Loreto’s established reputation for excellence in supporting ambitious students aiming for the most competitive universities.
I am incredibly proud of the dedication, resilience and intellectual curiosity shown by our students. They have all worked tirelessly, embracing every challenge and opportunity presented to them. Their achievements reflect not only their outstanding ability but also the strength of our community. Loreto exists to widen opportunity and raise aspirations, and these offers demonstrate exactly what can be accomplished when talent is nurtured with expert guidance and genuine belief. I have every confidence that our students will continue to flourish as they take this exciting next step.
Michael Jaffrain, Principal
Loreto’s Oxbridge success has been widely recognised in national rankings and media coverage, reflecting the College’s commitment to academic stretch and high aspiration. In national rankings of acceptance rates, Loreto ranks 2nd in the country, far above many highly selective schools and colleges.
At the heart of this accomplishment is Loreto’s bespoke Oxbridge Programme, which provides rigorous, personalised and expert guidance throughout the application process. The programme offers specialist extension classes to develop critical thinking and analytical skills, helping students excel in admissions tests and interviews. Students also benefit from visiting Oxford and Cambridge academics, who deliver subject-specific classes, workshops and university application seminars, offering invaluable insight into the expectations of both universities.

Loreto’s role as the Cambridge HE+ Hub for the Central Manchester Consortium further enhances this support, giving students access to degree-level masterclasses, academic residentials and enrichment activities that push them beyond the A-level curriculum.
This year’s offer holders have demonstrated outstanding resilience, curiosity and commitment. Whether pursuing Engineering, Fine Art or Medicine, they embody the academic ambition and inclusive excellence at the heart of Loreto College.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all 21 students and our sincere thanks to the dedicated Oxbridge team, specialist teachers, visiting academics and alumni whose expertise and encouragement continue to support our students.
