16 Loreto College students participated in this year’s Daniel Dockery Mock Trial Competition, and came in 2nd place out of 12 schools!
Students have rehearsed weekly since September in our new ‘mock trial’ classroom and wrote their own opening and closing statements, questions for cross-examination, and learnt their witness statements. Students also benefited from the help of two experienced barristers from Kenworthy’s Chambers, who assisted in the preparations. On the day of the competition, the students acted out their cases in Manchester Crown Court in front of real court judges, and were praised for their confidence and convincing performances!
Well done to Safa (who also won the award for best advocate), Sara, Mia, Oliver, Ali, Sonia, Tiana, Mo, Ewan, Danielle, Emily I, Emily C, Ejona, Ayomide, Catalina and Ayah.
