After Loreto: “I had 2 gap years before going to Manchester Metropolitan University in September 2017 to study Geography. During university, I completed a year in industry at St Helens Council in the Transport Policy Team before graduating from university in July 2021. Following this I joined TfGM working in the Transport Strategy department, and worked on lots of projects which involved active travel and bus projects, as well as long term strategies for transport in Greater Manchester. I now work within the Rapid Transit Development Team, working on various projects involving the Metrolink network”.

Reflections on Loreto: “Loreto such a special and rewarding place to study. It quickly became somewhere I genuinely loved being. My time at the college helped me grow in confidence, build lasting friendships and develop skills that I continue to carry with me long after leaving”.

“Since leaving Loreto, I have been building hours flying small aircraft, in preparation for hopefully obtaining my private license sometime this year, I absolutely love it! From there I can hopefully save for my airline license in a few years”

Reflections on Loreto: “Loreto was such a warm and inspiring environment in my college years that really allowed me to thrive. I always felt so involved, from competing in the National Bar Mock Trial in London with the Law Society, to acting as a tutor in the Sociology department, and finally being able to get involved with a huge amount of musical ensembles like the jazz band and the annual musicals. I was constantly challenged there and I never for a second doubted that my teachers were always looking out for me in all of my classes.”

After Loreto:

“Since leaving I have been studying for a Law LLB degree at the University of Leeds. I’m actually on a study abroad year right now where I have been studying at university called KU Leuven in Belgium, which has allowed me to practice my French and Dutch and make loads of international connections. As for career ideas, I am hoping to train as a public lawyer, which essentially means a lawyer who either works for and advises the government/local councils on the legal implications of their decisions, or on the flip side a lawyer who challenges government decisions for individuals whose rights are impacted”

Reflections on Loreto: “My two years in Loreto have truly shaped me for the better and provided me with experiences I’ll always cherish. I have enjoyed every moment, especially my Italian classes, which has shaped me in a more analytical and mature young woman, far more than I ever expected, and those two years will always hold a special place in my heart”.

After Loreto:

“After Loreto, I joined the University of Salford to study an LLB in Law. In addition to her studies, I had the opportunity to work in a firm’s clinical negligence department, where I drafted letters of claim to defendants and several legal documents. At the moment, I am also a volunteer tutor, helping several students with low-income households across Greater Manchester to achieve better grades in their English and Italian GCSEs”.

“Studying Theology at Loreto gave me the foundation for everything that followed. It taught me to critically analyse issues from multiple perspectives not just to understand what the law is, but to question what it ought to be. Indeed, the reasoning & writing skills gained from studying Theology remain with me today & provide the groundwork for Jurisprudence or the Philosophy of Law & much more beyond this.”

After Loreto:

Since leaving Loreto College, have built a career at the intersection of law, education, & public policy.

Went on to study Law at the University of Manchester completing both undergraduate & postgraduate degrees before progressing into academia at the University of Leeds, School of Law. There, I taught key areas, including Public Law, European Union Law, & Jurisprudence, helping students engage with the practical & philosophical dimensions of law.

Alongside my academic work, I also served as a Policy Assistant for a Member of Parliament, contributing to policy development & supporting constituents on issues of public importance. This also led to becoming the Development Manager for a ‘Peace Education Programme’ with an international charity, that has special consultative status with UN ECOSOC, aimed at finding commonalities between British & Abrahamic (religious) values as well as successfully completing the UN Graduate Study Programme in Geneva, Switzerland.

Since October 2021, I returned to the University of Manchester as a Senior Tutor in Law, where I lead on academic advising policy supporting students to thrive & shaping the future of legal education as well as continue to contribute to teaching & learning by serving as a Lecturer in the areas of Public Law & Economics;

After Loreto:

“I have achieved the following degrees: BSc Psychology and PGCE (Primary) with QTS.

I have worked as teaching assistant for 3 years in an independent school in Notting Hill, London.

My first teaching role in Manchester was at the school I completed my PGCE placement at.

I am now a Reception teacher in Thailand at an international school”.

“I had an incredible time at Loreto, and my two years there hold some of my fondest memories. I spent most of my time in the music department in various bands and choral groups in my free time, which meant I made friends for life whilst being able to break away from academia. I discovered my passion for law with Loreto, and this saw me start my journey to qualifying as a solicitor”.

After Loreto:

“Studied LLB Law Hons at Lancaster University, graduating in 2022 with a 2:1. LLM in Law and the Legal Practice Course with BPP following this. Secured and started a training contract with Pearsons Solicitors and Financial Advisers Ltd in 2025 specialising in medical negligence. Qualified as a solicitor in July 2026”.

“I studied A-level Psychology, Sociology and Theology at Loreto. Since leaving Loreto I have gone to University to study BA Primary Education with QTS as Manchester Metropolitan University. I will be graduating at as a primary school teacher this summer 2024. I am currently doing supply work as a primary school teacher to gain further experience to secure a teaching job. I am thinking now to apply for part time studying Masters in Education at MMU to open more doors for myself in my future career”.

I graduated in 2022 achieving a high 2:1 and went on to complete my Masters of Law and Practice with BPP university. I have secured a training contract to qualify as a solicitor in my firm’s medical negligence department”.
