One of our U6th students, Josh Pinnock, has been awarded second place in the finals of a prestigious national poetry recitation, Poetry by Heart, which was judged remotely via video entry this year. He did a fantastic job choosing and learning two poems, reading them with real clarity and feeling and getting through to the final ten KS5 competitors in the country.

We are really proud of him – particularly as he was up against competition from Eton and Rugby Schools. Josh has also been accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in pursuit of his ambitions to be an actor. His success in this competition is a clear indication of his ability as a performer. The college are thankful to Mrs Warburg for organising the competition entries and to Mr Newman for his judging and his  encouraging,  inspiring comments to all students who competed in the college round.
