On Friday, 14th October 2016, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, His Royal Highness Prince William and Her Royal Highness Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge visited the National Football Museum as part of a visit to Manchester.

I was fortunate to be one of the lucky three students selected, alongside Aliza Mian and Aaron Omotosho, to meet with the Duchess of Cambridge, and the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Carl Austin-Behan, to discuss the involvement of young people in digital careers. We spoke with the Duchess about our experience in the Hack Manchester competitions, which offer young people the exciting opportunity to work as a team to build a working program over two days.

The Duchess was extremely impressed by Aaron’s motorised vehicle, which he built after being inspired by one of the projects on the Hack Manchester competition and programmed to be controlled by a wireless PS4 controller. The Duchess remarked that Prince William was a fan of his PlayStation 4, and left us with best wishes for a tech-filled future!
