Loreto A Level student Daanya (pictured left) recently visited London to take part in the Youth Parliament at the House of Commons. The former St Peter’s RC High School pupil, who is currently studying A Levels in Politics, Maths and Theology, was one of 3 young people elected from Greater Manchester to represent the region at the Youth Parliament. Here Daanya describes the experience: As part of my role of a Member of Youth Parliament representing Manchester, I was given the opportunity to speak at the House of commons on Friday 4th November. The experience was nothing short of unreal and, although I think my speech could have gone better, this unforgettable day will forever be etched into my memory.  I’ve always been a very vocal and outspoken person who is always willing to discuss and learn new things, whilst also attempting to improve the world around me. Everything starts with something small, and this applies to my aspirations too. In college I’m able to represent people’s views as a Student Voice Representative and Student Councillor.

Daanya hopes to study PPE at degree level with the intention of pursuing a career in Law before moving into Politics and maybe one day becoming an MP.
