Students headed to the coast to develop fieldwork skills, which are a key part of the Geography A level.
The geographers used data collection techniques at Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, including measuring beach profiles and investigating erosion, weathering and mass movement on the Little Orme. It was also a chance to develop important team skills.

Head of Geography Mr Grundy said the trip was essential preparation for the A-level coursework, which accounts for 20% of the final qualification. He added:
“We offer day trips throughout the year to ensure all the students get the skills they need.”
This fieldwork day is the first of four, leading up to students producing a 3,000-word coursework piece in their upper sixth year.
