This week would have been the annual MANCEP Shakespeare Festival hosted in Loreto College’s Ellis and Kennedy theatre, but, sadly, answering Hamlet’s famous question, it was “not to be”. However, we wanted to mark this highlight of our calendar with a sharing of Shakespeare. During the first Lockdown, in June 2020, some of the MANCEP drama teachers (Loreto Sixth Form, Loreto High School,Our Lady’s High School, St Peter’s High School, The Barlow and Xaverian College) got together online to record a reading of  a 30 minute version of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to mark this year’s event. Now, more than ever all need a bit of light relief and entertainment and we hope this will provide just that:

At the festival, in normal times, in the interval, we would normally have musical entertainment from music students. At Loreto College this term, we were able to safely fiml our very talented singers performing a version of ‘Over Hill, Over Dale’ from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We are delighted to share it with you.
