Upper sixth Photography student Evan Purdy has been accepted onto the Fine Art Photography course at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art, internationally recognised as one of Europe’s leading higher education institutions for education and research in the visual creative disciplines. Ex St Anne’s RC High School pupil Evan joined Loreto in September 2017. He had not studied Art at GCSE level but was accepted onto our Photography course because staff in the Fine Art department recognised the potential demonstrated in his portfolio. This confidence in Evan’s ability has been justified fully, as his work ethic, talent and determination have seen him gain a place at GSA, one of only twenty offered, from a pool of five hundred applications and two hundred interviews.

Staff in the Fine Art department are very proud of Evan, Photography teacher Rhona Delaney-Willis commenting that: “I am thrilled for Evan, particularly as he had no experience of studying the arts before he came to Loreto. He is extremely talented and works very hard. Well done Evan!”
