Loreto 5 Bury 1

With Loreto requiring a win to secure the title, a good performance against Bury was vital. Loreto’s second team were off to a great start, with everything the side had practiced coming into play. Fantastic touches saw the side move through the thirds with ease, creating many chances. With the majority of the possession belonging to Loreto, it was only right that they would open the scoring. Shaquille once again picked up the ball on the wing and glided past a number of players before slotting the ball in the corner, with only a short time remaining in the first half.

Loreto started the second half with the same intensity and energy as they continued to put an enormous amount of pressure on Bury. With many more chances being created, Shaquille managed to grab his second goal by tapping in a great cross from Sam to make it 2-0. Getting into the last quarter of the game, Sam’s finish after a rapid counter attack from Loreto surely had secured the league – the game now stood at 3-0. Shaquille managed to grab his hat-trick with a goal that was identical to his first, 4-0. Richie Atta then put the game out of sight with a great solo run before finishing before Loreto lost their clean sheet through a error at the back to end the game at 5-1. It has been a fantastic year for the Loreto side, with great football played. Now onto next year!
