BTEC Subsidiary/ Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting)

 

Who is this course for?
 
This is a Level 3 qualification that can be completed as a one-year course (Subsidiary Diploma) or a two-year course (Diploma).
 
The course is ideal for any student who wishes to be a performer or go into the creative industries. The course is a vocational qualification that enables students to develop their performance skills to a very high level and to learn the graft and craft of acting.  It is a nationally recognised qualification.
 
What will I study on the course?Image
 
In the first year you will study 7 modules: Principles of Acting, Applying Acting Skills, Drama Improvisation, Developing Physical Theatre, Applying Physical Theatre, Performing to an Audience and Classical Theatre Performance.
 
Will I need any qualifications to do this course?
 
The entry requirements are 4 GCSE grade C or above, including English
GCSE Drama A*-C (or equivalent, such as BTEC First Diploma/Extended Certificate in Performing Arts etc)

We ask that all students have a passion for theatre and performance and are enthusiastic about their studies as it is a demanding course.
 
Assessment85% Practical. 15% Written.
 
All assessments are assessed through practical rehearsal, performance and supporting log/evaluation of the work produced.

We have highly qualified staff, state of the art lighting and sound equipment. A large 250-seater theatre and designated rehearsal studios for dance drama and music.
