Vive la musique!

ImageImageStudents from Loreto College recently took their musical skills to the international stage with a number of performances in Paris!

As part of the Music Programme, the college choir performed a programme of songs to crowds in beautiful surroundings at three venues on their short tour; at the Champ de Mars by the Eiffel Tower, in Maurice Gardette Square and the picturesque Parc Brassens.

This was a delightful and fitting end to an extremely busy year, which has seen the college choirs perform numerous concerts, in and around Manchester. The choir's conductor, Mr Roberts, commented: "I am so proud of the way the choir prepared for this tour. In addition to all their exam preparation and busy summer schedules, they worked hard on getting the programme together in the weeks prior to going. The professionalism in the way they conducted themselves throughout our time on tour was impeccable and they did Loreto proud."

It featured a number of soloists who very much enjoyed having the opportunity to sing in such great locations. Nicomi Lennon, commented: "I've never been on a music tour before, but I must say that the experience was unforgettable and I can't wait for next year's tour!!"

Although the performances were organised well in advance, the choir did their best to create additional performance opportunities, which included spontaneous a cappella versions of some of the choir's repertoire in such places as outside the Sacre Coeur and underneath the arc de triomphe.
