The students who study this course  are interested in careers in the travel and tourism industry and the business sector and develop a range of skills and knowledge relevant to these industries. 

Students typically progress to university and then on to careers in the travel and tourism industry . Some students decide to progress directly into the travel and tourism sector.

Units focusing on real life experiences of the Travel and Tourism Industry:
These units give you the opportunity to organise and experience first hand, a range  of  attractions and destinations.

Overseas Residential  Study Visits:  have included the trendy and vibrant cities of Amsterdam and Barcelona

Visitor attractions have included:  Blackpool, Alton Towers, Castleton,  Manchester attractions,  Lake District (Adventure activities)  Peak District

Units relating to specific Travel and Tourism Occupational  Areas:
These units help you to specialise in exciting occupations within the travel and tourism industry.

Units exploring particular Travel Destinations:
These units give you an understanding and knowledge of a range of destinations from nearby cities and resorts to interesting and exotic cities and resorts in far away places such as  Blackpool, Edinburgh, Lake District,  Brighton, Stratford on Avon, London, New York, Los Angeles, Lanzarote,  Crans Montana (Switzerland)Crete, Amsterdam, Prague , Ibiza and Sydney.

These units will give you an insight into the travel and tourism industry and develop the skills to enable you to be successful in the travel and tourism industry.

Trips and Excursions and Residentials
You will experience  a variety of trips including local, national and International destinations. Residential have included: Amsterdam & Barcelona. Visits have included: Alton Towers,  Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Castleton Caves, Chester, Lake District, Manchester Airport.

The teaching and learning environment
You will learn in a vocationally relevant environment. You will experience a range of IT facilities, including individual PC’s, interactive smartboard, internet DVD’s. Industry related teaching materials, Guest Speakers, PowerPoint presentations, role plays, displays and study visits.

Staff Industrial Expertise
Staff currently work for companies such as First Choice and My Travel and have worked in a range of travel and tourism occupations. You will be provided  with current industry specific information and assisted with  progression routes relevant to the travel and tourism industry. Staff will share their first hand knowledge of many worldwide destinations and support  you with your research  tasks relating to travel and tourism destinations.
