Opportunity for Loreto Theology Student Liam Dunne

ImageImageAS Theology student Liam Dunne has secured a place on the Cambridge University Sutton Trust Summer School for Theology, Religious Studies and Philosophy.  This is a fantastic opportunity for Liam, a former All Hallows RC High School student. There will be lectures and discussions on a wide range of both modern and ancient thought.

ImageLiam’s Theology teacher, Miss Donbavand, says that Liam is an exceptionally hard working student and is confident that he will really make the most of this opportunity. Liam got the best mark in the college for his January Theology exam and is always eager to learn more. He was also one of the prize winners in Loreto Theology’s annual essay competition. The aspect of Theology that he particularly enjoys is that it is not just about straight forward facts, but allows for a range of different responses to the questions it poses. This offers a real contrast to the more science related subjects that he also studies at Loreto. After leaving Loreto, Liam hopes to go on to study Philosophy at university.

Liam has taken full advantage of many of the enrichment activities that Loreto offers it’s Theology students, from attending conferences with some of the country’s leading Theologians and Philosophers to seeing the Dalai Lama at the Manchester Arena.
