A Loreto student was recently at the Grand Prix in Bahrain representing Poland as part of the VERVA racing team. Patryk Szczerbinski, who studies IT at Loreto College, was selected by PKN Orlen and will join fellow team mate Giermaziak as the new driver for team.
Patryk was selected in by PKN Orlen earlier this year. The recruitment process was open to all drivers of Polish citizenship between 17-26 years, with a racing license and proven experience in international racing. He was one of three drivers whose previous experience and career progress indicated he had the ability to compete in the Porsche Supercup series. And although Patryk is the youngest in the team he has impressed everyone with his maturity.
Patryk is excited to be taking part in Bahrain: "It gives me great honour to join the team VERVA Racing Team. I thank PKN Orlen, for the trust they have blessed me with and a chance to race in a professional team in the prestigious Porsche Supercup series,” he said.
The VERVA season will consist of 10 races and the end of the season will take place in mid-September, at the Italian Grand Prix.
