ImageWe’re heading back to the UK now after a magnificent few days in the French Capital. The students showcased their talents and have had a fantastic experience. There are some tired faces among the group, but the trip has been a superb opportunity to perform abroad. Look out for all our music events next year: there’s a lot in store….

ImageA busy day for all involved today, but the choir are getting stronger and stronger in their performances. ‘Seasons of love’ from Rent was well received by the large crowds in both venues today and we moved them to utter silence in a beautiful arrangement of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’. We also managed to fit in a little more shopping and sight – seeing too, with an impromptu a cappella flash mob of ‘Stand by me’ thrown in for good measure. We’re now off to the Monte Carlo restaurant for our last evening meal of the trip before we head to the hotel and pack.

ImageWe arrived at our lovely hotel last night at 7pm and tucked into our first meal.
Today was overloaded with activities. The students took advantage of the sights and galleries in Paris and explored the delights that the city offers, that is, of course before we reconvened at our first performance venue; we impressed the crowds with the repertoire and calibre of the singing. The choir stunned crowds with a range of pieces from ‘Take That’ and ‘Coldplay’ to the Maori Lullaby ‘Hine E Hine’. Our soloists Paul Kidd, Rejoice Tshabangu, Jasmine Nisic and Gerard Dagnall were incredible. On the coach back to the hotel now.

ImageThe equipment and luggage is all loaded and we are on our way to Paris for the Loreto College Music Tour. The students (although sleepy, as it’s 5am) have prepared tirelessly for their debut performance on the international stage. There is no rest for the 20 - strong choir led by Mr Roberts as he will be rehearsing with them on the coach. We will post again tomorrow and keep you all updated.
