New Logo Reflects Historic Past

Loreto College is launching a new logo to reflect its academic heritage at a time of innovation and growth.

The college’s buildings may be ultra- modern but its new logo harks back to Loreto’s historic roots. It features a 150 year-old crest designed by Mother Teresa Ball, who founded the Loreto organisation in Manchester.
Image“We have gone through a period of transition as in the last six years most of the college has been rebuilt,” said Assistant Principal Ms Pritchard.
“We now have a brand new campus with modern-state-of-the-art facilities but we wanted our logo to reflect the history and heritage of the college.
“Loreto College now has the best of both worlds – we have the best modern facilities but also the academic achievement built up over the last 150 years.”
The logo features part of the family crest of Loreto’s original founder, Mary Ward.
In addition to the new logo the college has named its campus buildings after nuns who have served the college community.
Loreto College is part of an international network of Catholic colleges run by the
Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a religious order founded in the seventeenth century by
Mary Ward.
The new logo replaces the Loreto arch. More information and an interactive guide to the new logo can be found by following the link below:
