Multimedia Music Moguls!

ImageImageStudents had an opportunity to see their friends as pop stars as Ellis and Kennedy theatre today premiered an extensive array of student media work.

This was an impressive setting due to the HD quality visuals and the surround sound system which rivals local cinema complexes! The A2 students were excited to contribute to Charities Week fundraising in a fun and interactive way and were thrilled to see their videos shown publically.
The sound and picture quality added to the overall impact of the music videos which highlighted the talent and creativity of the media students. The showcase involved the completed A2 video production work including music from artists as diverse as Kanye West and Guns N’ Roses!

Alistair Fordom, Head of Media Studies, commented that, “the students spent many hours of filming and editing their pop music videos. It has been a real labour of love for our students who have produced some exceptional work and similarly excellent results. Our students don’t play at making media artefacts – they have produced work which is totally credible and which would not be out of place within the real media.’’ Ramiah, a student in the audience said, “I thought all the clips were very good…they all did an excellent job.”

Ellis and Kennedy building is the newest of the Loreto builds which opened this academic year. As well as the latest media technology the building has remarkable energy saving measures including solar panels, and underground heat transfer system, natural ventilation and a system to collect and use rainwater making it one of Manchester’s most environmentally friendly buildings!
