Loreto students have the X factor

ImageA wealth of student talent took to the stage for the Loreto College Showcase - all in aid of charity.

ImageHundreds of students and staff watched a wide range of talented acts from singers, rappers to pianists, guitarists and dancers. All the performers received huge cheers from a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience making it very difficult for the three judges to pick finalists for the clap-o-meter finale.

ImageAfter an exciting climax the audience voted the highly talented singer and guitarist Sabrina Malana as the winner whose encore of lady Gaga’s Poker Face and the Rhianna song Umbrella got all of the audience singing along. She will now decide what charity will benefit from the Showcase event.
The two finalists were Ruth O’Brien, for her wonderful rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow, and Derrick Afriyie and his group: The Hip Hop Disciples.
Mr Maddix, who organised the LC Showcase and was a judge alongside student Neelam Akram and Ms Purcell, said both the performers and audience had made the event very special.

Image“The LC Showcase was a real success and once again proved that Loreto has masses of talent,” he said. “The show was opened and presented by the very capable Heleemah X whose opening song set the scene for an explosive show.”

He added: “a huge thanks and congratulations goes to all those who were involved in making the day so special and in raising money for charity at Christmas.”
