The Crib
A Nativity scene helps us to remember the person at the heart of our Christmas celebrations: Jesus, the Son of God, who was born into a real family, as a vulnerable and fragile baby.
The message of Christmas touches something universal in us all: that God should visit us, as one of us,to reveal his love for all people. “The Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory of a father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
Advent Wreath
Advent is a time for looking forward to the Joy of Christmas. Traditionally, it is a time of preparation, to welcome the baby Jesus into our world today by personally welcoming his message of peace and goodwill
to all people.
We mark the journey throug
h Advent by lighting the candles on our Advent wreath – one for each Sunday, until finally, we light the central white candle on Christmas day to symbolise the birth of Jesus! “No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.” (John 1:18)
