Let Them Eat Cake

ImageImageStudents and staff alike have been whipped up into a frenzy of baking today as a charity cake sale kicks off this week’s fundraising events for Comic Relief.

The Charities Group have coordinated a variety of activities in a bid to raise a challenging target of £1500 to support individuals both in the UK and Africa.
The Charity cake sale was a roaring success and over £140 has been raised so far but money is still coming in and being counted as we speak!

Many students offered their time to help make the sale a success. One student, Suzanne, helped to sell the cakes direct to tutor rooms and commented that “it’s not too much work given the fact it’s raising money for Comic Relief”.

A satisfied customer, Hannah, also remarked that “my cake was really yummy – homemade and totally delicious! Plus it’s all for a good cause!”

Comic Relief cash has been at work in over 76 countries around the world since it began in 1985 and Comic Relief supports work in the UK as well as overseas and has funded 12,597 projects in the UK to date.
Check back later in the week for an update on the progress!
