Higher Education Conferences and University Visits

ImageImageLower sixth students at the college recently attended a Higher Education Conference at the college. Students were able to attend a very exciting and information presentation by Fred Binley from Lancaster University about making their University choices and life at University. They were then able to spend time preparing their personal statement with their tutor using a unique workbook and advice given by Salford University and other specialists.  A further session enabled students to log on to UCAS to commence their application for University in 2113 and to research courses and universities.  This was followed up in the evening by a Higher Education Conference for parents led by Fred Binley who explained the UCAS procedure and the financial issues involved in University Education.

ImageTrips were then organised for all students to visit a University to gain a taste on University Life. Students attended open days at Leeds University, Manchester University, Liverpool University, Liverpool John Moores University, Salford University and UCLAN.

ImageAnne Barker Senior Tutor said, ‘these opportunities really help students to make informed decisions about their future and to be well prepared for the application process so they are in the best possible position when applying for universities.’
