Flying High at Loreto College

ImageImageLoreto students will soon be ready for take-off after the college landed it’s very own plane.

The college has invested more than £5,000 in the specialised plane cabin which is totally realistic and has all the equipment usually found on-board an aircraft

It will be used for the college’s new Cabin Crew Course which is being offered as an extra for BTEC Travel and Tourism students in order to help them into jobs in the air industry.

“The students are thrilled that they will be working within such a stimulating and different environment,” said Mr Harris, Head of Travel and Tourism.
“It is fantastic – it has been built by experts from the airline Industry and designed to facilitate the development of cabin crew skills.”

Special features, such as a fully equipped airline trolley, will enable students to deliver a full cabin crew service which will teach them highly relevant professional skills. It’s expected that it will also contribute to students gaining distinctions for their BTEC units

“The equipment heightens students’ confidence and competencies which will be beneficial whether students wish to progress directly to the travel and tourism industry or go to university,” added Mr Harris.
