Disney Magic for Health & Social Care Students

ImageImageStudents have been seeing how their studies relate to the real world with an exciting trip to Euro Disney.

The Health and Social Care students travelled to Paris to see how practices they have learnt about in the classroom are applied at the theme park.

During the BTEC course at Loreto College students learn about aspects of health and safety, nutrition, the need for equality and diversity and how to protect people. All of these topics were explored during the French trip with the help of experts working in health and social care at Euro-Disney.

But it was not all work as the visit included the chance to enjoy the theme park and visit Paris attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.

“By observing and learning how the theories learnt in college apply in real life situations the students now have increased motivation for their studies and their individual coursework,” said Ms Procter who heads the Health and Social Care course.

“It was a great experience which enriched the students culturally as well as enhancing their applications for university,” she added. The students travelled to Paris via the Eurotunnel and stayed at a Cowboy themed hotel in the Euro Disney resort.
