A Christmas Welcome at Loreto

ImageImageStudents and staff have been sharing the joy of Christmas by hosting Loreto’s annual seasonal party for the homeless.

Twenty five residents from Mary and Joseph House were treated to a traditional Christmas meal cooked by Loreto catering staff and served by the college’s students.

Enthusiastic helpers have been busy running cake sales to raise money to buy gifts for the men so everyone had a present to open from underneath the Loreto Christmas tree.

ImageA level student Sabrina Malana, the latest star of the Loreto’s Showcase talent show, sang and played her guitar while AS student Annie Lord played the keyboards to accompany student carol singers. An entertaining game of bingo rounded off the evening.

Mr Carberry, who organised the party, said it had been a wonderful way to celebrate the spirit of the Christmas season.

“The residents of Mary & Joseph House expressed their thanks and said they eagerly look forward to meeting our students at the Christmas party every year,” he said.

“And such is the demand amongst Loreto students to volunteer at the party they have to sign up weeks in advance to guarantee their place."
