Careers Fair | Loreto College

Loreto held its annual Careers Fair on Monday 6^th February 2012. The Fair was mainly aimed at our Lower Sixth students to give them the chance to discover what is available in the market place, to help them make choices for the academic year ahead as well as their future careers. They certainly made very good use of the occasion, some 900 students flooding the Sports Hall at 11.45 and really taking time to talk to the various representatives. The overwhelming majority of students thought the event was very helpful.

The fair was also open to our Upper Sixth students as well and, even though optional, many of them took the opportunity to talk to the universities and businesses that were there.

The representatives – who ranged from British Gas to the nursery group Kids Unlimited, universities from the northwest stretching up to Newcastle and down to the midlands - arrived at 11.00, were given a light lunch and set up by 11.30. They all had stands, pamphlets, and “freebies”. All were pleased by the very positive response.

Many thanks to Mrs. Halkon, Mr. Hunt and the team who have put the Careers Fair firmly on the college calendar as a vital and dynamic event.
